I started in IT operations — physical servers, rack cabling, enterprise deployments for CBA and PwC. That background gave me something most software grads don’t have: I understand what runs underneath the code.
At Barton Care I wore two hats simultaneously — building the rostering software as a developer intern while also running community care operations as a manager. Shipping features to systems you personally depend on has a way of focusing your priorities.
The SDI-12 sensor logger that won Outstanding Student Project taught me that the gap between a prototype and something that actually works reliably in the field is where most of the real engineering happens.
Currently freelancing — building web apps, mobile apps, and AI integrations for clients. Also developing tiiqe, a product I'm building alongside client work. Open to new projects.
